Why Twenty One Pilots are Changing Alternative Music

Twenty One Pilots are one of the best and most creative bands in alternative music right now. If you haven't heard their name, you've still probably heard their songs. The release of their 4th studio album, Blurryface last year has sent them crazy success.

Some of their songs such as Ride, Stressed Out and Heathens being played over 100 million times on Spotify. If you've never heard of them, you might be asking yourself, "why are they so popular?" and "why do they have the biggest fan base in alternative music right now?" The answer is simple; you have never heard a band like them before. They take influence from so many music genres, such as rap, pop and electronic. Also unlike so many other bands, they are only a duo, consisting of lead singer and keyboardist Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun.

Another thing that sets them apart from the rest is their use of ukuleles and drums. Tyler somehow finds a way to make a ukulele so badass and it's something the band is known for. Josh also kills it at the drums. During almost every concert, Josh gets into the crowd with his drum set and a wooden platform and is held up by the audience while banging on the drums. It is honestly one of the craziest and most awesome interactions with fans in the crowd in years.
