Snickers Rice Krispie Treats

Last week, Jaye's grandmother made us some Rice Krispie treats and I wanted to eat the whole box right then and there! I realized it had been ages since I made my own Rice Krispies and I wanted to experiment. I asked Jaye what candy bar version of a Rice Krispie treat he wanted and of course, he said "Snickers!" So after mixing a few Pinterest recipes, I came up with this! We finished them very very fast! They came out amazing!

NOTE* Because I used caramel sauce, the Rice Krispies held together the best in the fridge!

1/4 cup butter

5 cups mini marshmallows

5 1/2 cups rice krispie cereal

1/2 cup salted peanuts

2/3 cup of caramel sauce

1 bar of cooking chocolate (I used dark because it's my favorite!)

Melt your butter or margarine over medium low heat in a large sauce pan.

Add in marshmallows, and stir together till marshmallows are completely melted.

Pour in your rice krispie cereal and stir together till cereal is completely coated.

Pour cereal into a 9x13 in pan and press down evenly.

Sprinkle peanuts evenly over the top of the rice krispie treats.

Warm the caramel sauce in the microwave just until slightly thinner. I did about 30 seconds.

Pour caramel evenly over the top of rice krispie treats.

Melt chocolate bar in the microwave in 320 second increments, stirring after each until smooth.

Pour chocolate over the caramel layer and spread evenly.

Let chocolate set completely and cut.

I found that putting the Rice Krispies in the fridge made the chocolate set faster and made it a delicious cold treat! Because it is a caramel sauce being used, it holds better being cold.

I hope you guys enjoy this recipe! Let me know if you try it out.
