7 Ways To Have A Fabulous Morning

Mornings!! Ugh. If I'm being honest, I think I'm more of a night person. Sometimes it can be extremely hard to get motivated in the morning because you've been in bed and it's sooooo easy to be lazy. Recently though, I've been trying really hard to start my day off better, get myself out of bed and get shit done. And it's actually been going really well! So if you are like me and the mornings can be a struggle, here are some tips I've been using to make my mornings a lot more fabulous!

1. Hot lemon water

I know you've probably heard this 1000000 times before, but hot lemon water right when you wake up is amazing for your health. I love coffee, but I get coffee jitters if it's the first thing I have, so lemon water is the perfect start up for the day. Just take your favorite mug and fill it with half room temp water and half boiling water and squeeze in a full lemon. This not only helps energize you, it also works wonders on your skin. It also helps your digestion and your immune system. 

2. Meditate 

I'm not gonna lie, I've always looked at meditation and been like, "there is no possible way I can do this. I'm just supposed to sit in silence for 10 minutes? And do what?" But after doing some more research, I realized that there was more than one form of meditation. Jaye told me about an app called Simple Habit. It's a free guided meditation app and it's amazing. It can relax you, energize you or just make you feel happier! I've been doing short 5 or 10 minute morning sessions in bed right when I wake up and it's just a great way to start your morning out on a positive note. 

3. Have a healthy breakfast

I'm not someone who wakes up in the mornings starving. If anything I'm just thirsty. After reading a lot about how beneficial having a healthy breakfast is, I've been having it every morning. Usually I'll go for greek yogurt with fruit and granola, avocado toast or eggs on toast. Having a healthy and fresh breakfast in the morning just preps you for the day. It fills you up so you also eat less during the day. When I used to just wait until lunch to eat, I would be ravenous and would eat too much! I also find this the best time of day to have carbs because it gives you energy for the rest of the day.

4. Talk to loved ones

My favorite thing to do in the morning is talk to my loved ones. It always sets me up to have a wonderful day. Talking to Jaye about some of the dreams that I've had and my plans for the day or calling my parents and brother in California if they are still awake. I am a firm believer that the people I have in my life are the reason I am the person I am today. They have always supported me and given me so much love. So get on the phone and call your family or your best friend. Wake up with your significant other and just talk about life because it will make your day so much better!

5. Do something that makes you happy

If you are getting ready for work, listen to some of your favorite music. Or if you work at home or on summer break, go out for a walk or read your favorite book. Doing something that makes you happy for even just 10 minutes will really change the course of your day. Sometimes that means you might even have to wake up a bit earlier if you are heading to work or school, but honestly, it will make you so much happier and more relaxed. I've been loving going to coffee shops early before they get super crowded. Sometimes I'll take my laptop so I can work and other times, I'll just bring book.
