The Most Instagrammable Places in San Diego
A couple of weeks ago, I posted about the most Instagrammable places in London. I thought it was a fun idea and thought I should do some other cities I love as well. This time around, it’s the most Instagrammable places in my hometown of San Diego, California.
When I was younger, I never thought of San Diego being “cool.” To be honest, I thought it was a bit boring! But the older I got, the cooler the city became. More restaurants and coffee shops started to pop up and more amazing things to see. In the past 2 years of me living in London, even more incredible places have popped up. So here is my list of the most Instagrammable places in sunny San Diego.
A vegan cocktail bar and restaurant! Kindred is in North Park (my favorite area of San Diego) and it’s decorated incredibly! Although I’m not vegan, I seriously appreciate some good vegan food! And there was definitely a lack of vegan restaurants in SD so this definitely needed to be created. I can’t wait to try in when I’m back.
Ohhhh myyyy goodnesssss. This is honestly one of my favorite restaurants in the whole world. It used to only serve big bowls of ramen but now they serve delicious rice bowls too. They have an extensive beer list and everything is delicious. I usually order a Tonkatsu Ramen with pork belly or brisket. And it is glorrrrrious.
Coffee & Tea Collective
Similar to Underbelly, Collective is also one of my favorite places ever. It is one of the most amazing coffee shops I have ever been to and was definitely a regular spot for me when I was living in SD. I even made it a point to visit 2 or 3 times when I was back home. Both the North Park and East Village location are great. The coffee is perfect (I’m a latte girl) and the avocado toast is amazing (only at East Village location). Not to mention, both are very esthetically pleasing.
This place is just Instagrammable overload! Green and pink everything cover this cafe from top to bottom and it is very cute! I have never been here myself, but from what I’ve seen, it looks great!
Home of the maple bacon donut and in my opinion, some of the most delicious breakfast you can get in San Diego. The restaurant is super retro, very cozy and there is always a long wait, so make a reservation if you want to be sat quickly. Make sure to try the maple bacon donuts, the Bloody Mary’s and the chilaquiles.
This coffee shop is based in a warehouse that I believe used to be a small airplane hanger (don’t quote me on that though!!!) It has great coffee and even do some seasonal drinks as well, which I love. It has some really cute little shops in the front and is very dog friendly, which gets extra points from me!
Fried Chicken… That alone should make you want to come here! The entire restaurant seating area outside on a patio and it’s super cute! It’s super laid back and cozy and the food in incredible! Obviously, they have great fried chicken, but if you are trying to be a bit more healthy, they have an amazing kale salad!
This New Zealand themed restaurant is set in a converted Victorian house in Little Italy. Not only is it very cute, but the food is also amazing. There are tables in the house, on the porch and of the side of the house. Have the skillet chocolate chip cookie for dessert.
Ironside is by far my favorite seafood restaurant in SD. It’s decorated so nautical, yet so modern. Not to mention, the food is amazing. Order a seafood tower and prepare to be amazed. Perfect restaurant for a date night or a special occasion dinner.
Last but not least, Extraordinary Desserts. If you have been here, you know it lives up to the name and the hype. Stand in line (usually a long one, but so worth it) and take your pick of all of the incredible desserts behind the glass. My all time favorite cake is from here called the Shangri-la.
