6 Podcasts To Listen To Right Now

In the past 2 years or so, I have become a huge fan of podcasts. Living in London means there is a ton of time spent underground with no wifi, so I started to create a routine for myself of playing solitaire and listening to podcasts. And let's just say, I've become a bit addicted. This is just a short list of some of my all time favorite podcasts that you should be listening to right now (well, after you read this blog post first, of course)!

1. My Favorite Murder - with Karen Kilgariff & Georgia Hardstark

MY FAVORITE MURDER IS THE BEST PODCAST EVER. Can you tell I'm excited to talk about it? So, for as long as I can remember, I have had a fascination with true crime. I used to watch Law & Order, Forensic Files and 20/20 all of the time, and of course, my favorite episodes were the ones about murders. It sounds morbid to be interested in murder, I know. And I thought I was crazy, until I came across this podcast. Enter Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark. 2 woman who grew up in California and are also true crime fans and decided to make a podcast about it. I wanted to be best friends with them from the first 5 minutes of the first episode of My Favorite Murder. Each episode is organized into each woman telling you about a murder that they find crazy and interesting, hence, "My Favorite Murder." So if you are weird like me, listen to this podcast, because it's the best.

2. Not Too Deep - with Grace Helbig

If you love dry humor and pop culture, you should be listening to Not Too Deep. Hosted by Ms. Grace Helbig of Youtube fame and co-hosted by Jack Ferry, this podcast is highly entertaining and also very funny. Each episode consists of an interview with an interesting personality as well as two things Grace asks every single guest; "If you could throw cold spaghetti at anyone, who would it be?" and "Describe your worst pants shitting story with just three words or small phrases." I'm sorry, but how can you not find both of those things to be incredibly funny?! So if you want to hear about the time your favorite celebrity shit their pants, be sure to listen to this podcast!

3. The Nerdist

I was familiar with Chris Hardwick long before I started listening to this podcast because of my love for Comic-Con and my enjoyment of every single panel that Hardwick hosted. In short, he is incredibly hilarious in the most nerdy way (and I can say that without being rude because I'm also a very big nerd!) In my opinion, The Nerdist Podcast is the best entertainment podcast out there. Although this is an interview based podcast, it's not in any way stuffy. Chris Hardwick makes every one of the guests feel like they are already close friends, which makes the interview dig deeper into the lives and minds of these creators. Some of my favorite episodes are Quentin Tarantino, She&Him, and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.

4. Off The Vine - with Kaitlyn Bristowe

If you are a fan of the hilariously awful and wonderful reality TV show, The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, this is the podcast for you. Kaitlyn Bristowe was on the 19th season of The Bachelor and was The Bachelorette on it's 11th season. Let's just say she was the most real contestant of the entire franchise and is also my favorite. She likes to drink, loves to curse and is a hilarious Canadian. What's not to love? The podcast definitely talks a lot about the show, Bristowe confesses secrets about her experiences and even interviews past contestants. But this show is not just about the Bachelor and Bachelorette, she also talks a lot about empowering women and interviews some incredible people. Also, it's soooooo funny. Go, listen to it now!

5. Shane And Friends

Another Youtuber/Podcaster, Shane Dawson is really one of the original "Youtube Celebrities". And rightfully so because he is also one of the most hilarious and entertaining people I have ever watched or listened to. Now, let me be upfront, Dawson's humor is not for the faint-hearted, but if you love some crazy and raunchy humor, you will love it. He not only interviews Youtubers, but also reality stars, celebrities and even the occasional stripper! Also, he interviewed my all time favorite, Ms. Dita Von Teese. So if you want to be driven to laugh out loud in public or just need to brighten your day, this podcast will become one of your favorites.

6. RuPaul: What's The Tee - With Michelle Visage

RUPAUL. YASSSSSSSSSS. It's no secret that I'm a huge RuPaul fan and love Drag Race. So if you are similar to me, you will absolutely love this podcast. Not only is there a lot of Drag Race commentary and interviews with the queens of the show but there is also a lot of hilarious and witty conversations between Ru and Michelle. And I live for it. One thing that's great about this podcast is that it's not just surface level content. They talk about real issues in the LGBTQ+ community and don't hold back; nothing is too personal for these two. So if you want to laugh but also be educated, you have to listen! And you will become obsessed.
