LA based five piece, Local Natives, just released their third studio length album. Sunlit Youth has been 3 years in the making and the hard work has definitely paid off. Local Natives are changing their sound in the indie alternative world similar to Mumford & Sons and the Lumineers, taking a step back from such an indie-folk scene.
In contrast to their last two albums, Gorilla Manor and Hummingbird, Sunlit Youth is drenched in electronic sound... But that doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Although mostly known for their indie-folk-rock vibes in songs like Heavy Feet, this album is a fresh take on the role of the band.
The best song on the album by far is "Dark Days". It is definitely the furthest style wise from the last albums but it is so fun and is extremely catchy. I've found myself playing in on repeat for a while now!
